Nurturing and reconnecting to Body  and Mind

Womb Massage – for cycle and pelvic health

Womb massage is an external massage that works through the back, sacrum, hips, abdomen and womb areas. It is a deeply nourishing massage that encourages blood flow, circulation, lymph flow and digestion while easing tension throughout the pelvis, back and abdomen. This nurturing blend of techniques is beneficial for menstrual pain, heavy, clotting or irregular cycles. It is also beneficial for pelvic adhesions, ovarian cysts, misaligned pelvic organs, constipation or IBS. Womb massage can be a wonderful therapy for any woman through menarche, menstruation and menopause.

Fertility Massage

Fertility massage can be a wonderful and supportive treatment during your fertility journey, aiming to increase blood circulation to improve lining, removal of waste and toxins and inflammatory by products, as well as realigning reproductive organs and loosening tight fascia and tissue around the pelvic region. Fertility massage helps to provide balance emotionally and physically, giving the opportunity to release trapped tension, trauma and emotion that can be held within the pelvic space.

Pregnancy Massage

Massage is a wonderful and nurturing therapy to receive in pregnancy, helping to relieve muscle tension from a changing body. It is a full body massage that can help with common pregnancy complaints such as pain in back, legs or hips and well as improving lymphatic flow in arms and legs. As well as the physical benefits, massage in pregnancy can help with emotional well -being; easing stress, aiding in relaxation as well as a chance to connect with your body and growing baby. Our pregnancy massage sessions are provided side lying, with pillows and supports in place to keep you and your baby comfortable and in good alignment.

Postpartum massage

Postpartum is a time of great change and adjustment, healing from pregnancy and birth, looking after a new baby as well as hormonal and lifestyle changes. In this time, there are many physical and emotional changes that can impact our body, mind and stress levels. Massage in this time can aid in recovery, boost circulation and lymph flow, alleviate muscle tension from pregnancy, labour and birth as well as helping to realign organs that have moved or tightened during the pregnancy and birthing journey. Postpartum sessions work through areas of tension from postural changes, feeding, pregnancy and birth, as well as working through the abdomen to help reconnect with your body and womb space.

Rebozo techniques are utilized for closing of the bones and helping to create a feeling of being held and supported during this time. Scar massage can also be incorporated into postpartum massage sessions for mothers who have birthed via caesarean section.

Scar Release massage

A number of different techniques are utilized in a scar session to improve scar quality, feeling and function of the incision site and surrounding tissues. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy and is beneficial in improving appearance of scars, reducing tightness of the scar and surrounding tissue, breaking down adhesions and improving circulation, sensation and numbness that can be associated with scars tissue. Scars can have a great impact on surrounding muscle and tissues, lymphatic flow can be impacted, and it can cause referred pain, such as lower back pain, common with caesarean section scars. When scar tissue is being laid down in the healing process, it can begin to adhere to fascia, tissue and other organs which can affect future pregnancies and births and restrictions in movement. Scar tissue massage can help to break these adhesions and restrictions down to improve blood circulation to the area, improving tissue health within and surrounding the scar.

Our massage is very beneficial for caesarean scars but can be done on any scar from surgery or injury that is causing irritation. Scar massage can be done in the months or years after surgery, it’s never too late to improve the quality and function of scar tissue.
